Biography

Dr. Solomon Abate Mekonnen is a Senior Researcher in Molecular Breeding and Genetics at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). He holds a Ph.D. in Horticultural Science and Biotechnology from Seoul National University, South Korea, and has extensive experience in agricultural research, digital system development, and food science innovations. Dr. Solomon is the lead developer of K-Ersha, a digital platform that provides researchers and agricultural scholars access to local technologies, research findings, and publications, enhancing knowledge sharing in the sector. He has also played a key role in coordinating international research projects, developing agricultural information management systems, and publishing extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
