Biography

Dr. Habtamu Assaye Deffersha is a prominent academic and researcher in the field of natural resource management. He is currently a lecturer at Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia, where he has been contributing to the Department of Natural Resource Management since October 2014. Dr. Deffersha holds a Master’s degree in European Forestry, with a double specialization in Agriculture and Forestry, as well as Forest Ecology and Management. This degree was awarded by a consortium of six European universities between 2007 and 2009. He also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Hawassa University (formerly Debub University) in Ethiopia. His research interests include forestry, and climate change mitigation. He has co-authored publications on topics such as carbon storage and the climate change mitigation potential of Ethiopia's Simien Mountains National Park.
