Biography

Dr. Morgan L. Ruelle is an Associate Professor at Clark University, specializing in Sustainability and Social Justice. His research focuses on the intersection of biological and cultural diversity, particularly how these factors enable communities to adapt to climate change. He integrates Indigenous ecological knowledge with scientific tools and emphasizes community participation throughout the research cycle. Dr. Ruelle has conducted significant work in Ethiopia, investigating the impact of agricultural policies on farmers' use of traditional legume varieties. His studies aim to sustain Ethiopia's agrobiodiversity as a source of adaptive capacity for climate change. Additionally, he collaborates with Ethiopian universities on the Legume Diversity Project, training graduate students to document farmers' knowledge across diverse agroecological contexts.
