The Amhara Agricultural Research Institute (ARARI) was established in 1999/2000 by the ANRS council proclamation no 48/1992 as an autonomous apex body. Our mission is to drive agricultural innovation and research to enhance the productivity, sustainability, and resilience of the agricultural sector in the Amhara region.

At ARARI, we are dedicated to advancing agricultural research to support the development of innovative farming practices, improve crop yields, and promote sustainable agricultural techniques. Our goal is to contribute to the economic development and food security of the Amhara region and Ethiopia as a whole.

What We Do
Conduct cutting-edge research in various fields of agriculture, including crop and livestock production, soil and water management, and agricultural biotechnology. Develop and disseminate innovative technologies and best practices to farmers, agricultural professionals, and stakeholders to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability. Provide training and capacity-building programs to farmers, researchers, and extension workers to improve their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural practices. Engage in collaborative projects with national and international partners to leverage expertise, resources, and knowledge for the advancement of agricultural research and development.
